Of course we can offer you complete service with pistons from our shop.
Or special tuning work before the new plating is done.

How to:
-Cilinders should be delivered to our shop dirt and grease free.
-With a note that explains what your wishes are.
-You can add a piston ,order a piston ,or simply state the exact size you wish the cilinder to have.
-Plastic filler (Devcon and such) repairs might get damaged ,Powerseal or Gilardoni advised
-Some cilinders (orig. Zündapp) can get porous from the acid bath. Powerseal or Gilardoni advised.
-Iron or steel get corroded by the acid ,fixed bolts are protected in the factory by rubbercaps.
-Other metal like tubes in the studholes (old Kreidler-Zündapp) are not protected ,
you can do it yourself by shutting the studholes with Silicone.
-Very worn Nikasil cilinders might be so big inside that it is impossible to go back to "A" size. Powerseal or Gilardoni advised.
-Chrome cilinders give the same problem ,the chrome has to be machined out. Powerseal or Gilardoni advised.
-Sometimes welding is needed after the removing of the old lining.
Some alloy has "bad spots" that open after the acid bath ,this welding is at customers costs.

Normal plating thickness is around 0,03mm.

Important to know:
The cilinders will do some postal travelling. (By reliable worldwide parcel service providers)
EMOT-Racing can take no responsibility for cilinders getting damaged or lost.
This is the owners risk.

Framebuilding.

We offer a variety of frames for 50cc and 125cc bikes.

Our own universal early 70's style frame is a raceproven design ,built more than 30 times.
It is made of 1,5mm steel tube and has a swingarm that pivots on ball bearings.
The wheelbase is aprox. 1260mm and the steering head angle is 23,5 degree.  Together with the high rigidity of the frame ,this layout gives a well handling bike that can be braked into the corner.
The frame fits engines of : Minarelli ,Sachs ,Simson ,Morini ,Puch ,Benelli ,Zündapp ,Casal ,and many others.

Our 125cc frame is the bigger sister of our 50cc frame.
Its great for engines like Yamaha twin ,Malanca ,Sachs ,Zündapp ,Aspes ,Maico ,Rotax ,etc.

Frames are made on request.
This means you can incorporate your own wishes like engine mounts ,or such.
Price ranges from 650 euro upwards.

Of course we offer bodyparts like fueltanks ,various seats and fairings ,fork yokes ,footrests ,shocks ,etc, to complete your bike.
EMOT 50cc tank: 195 euro
Jamathi model fairing: 140 euro (foto)
Shark model fairing: 150 euro (foto)
Contact us for other parts prices........
And if we don't have what you need ,we might know where to get it ...(4ls brakedrums ,alloy rims ,etc..)

For Kreidler we can offer the known shapes Van Veen model 1971 and 1978.
And also the bodyparts like tank ,seat ,fairing.

In development is a variation on our universal 50cc frame that has more modern looks of around 1978 -1980.
It fits most engines like Minarelli ,Simson ,Casal ,Derbi ,etc.
Rear suspension can be both cantilever monoshock or classic twin shock.
Another development project is a variation  of our frame for Kreidler engines.

cilinder casting /making.

It is a well known secret that modern scooter or Derbi cilinderkits offer great performance for little money. But on a classic racer they just look wrong. Therefore a lot of scooterparts are hidden inside "fake classic cilinder" covers.
We dislike this solution : The double wall means your cilinder will have to transport all its heat through its water. Also a lot of these double wall cilinders leak around the exhaust ,or get out of shape when hot.
We stick to our solutions ,they are expensive - but proven.  And on top of that ,our cilinders are constantly improving. At this moment they can keep up with the best kits from the well known makes. And we are pretty sure we will develop cilinders that beat all of them in the very near future.

 EMOT/Grohmann cilinderkit.

This is our running project that we proceed together with a former racing engine tuner.
We have casted  cilinders for 3 years now .

First we used borrowed Van Veen model moulds with our own inside porting array. But now we are producing 100% our own cilinders with another period classic outside. That of the famous DRM-Jamathi kit for Kreidler. This new cilinder has a 1kg lower weight than the old Van Veen ,also it has a far superior cooling flow system. In fact this system beats all other available cilinderkits for scooters ,Derbi ,etc. Its directly related to the system used on the latest Aprilia RSA racing engines.

Meanwhile around 10 bikes are equipped with our cilinder ,and 17-18+hp on the dynobench is reported repeatedly by different owners.
Prices on request. Available as rough casting ,machined ,or raceready nikasilled with piston ,with or without head.  Prices start at 180 euro for a rough casting ,400 euro for a machined cilnder ,to around 800 euro for a really raceready kit with head and piston.

Also available as reedvalve inlet cilinder.

Something different: thermal insulating paint with high efficiency

While looking for ways to improve the thermal efficiency of racing engines I came across this very special ceramic insulation paint.
This product was invented to insulate spacecraft. This stuff is why most spacecraft are white.

A more down to earth version was developed in Russia for tackling insulation problems in houses and industry.
Cold Russian winters make good insulation a matter of vital importance.
I got hold of a sample to test for my tests on engine parts.

The insulating capacity of this stuff is simly amazing !
The factory claims 1mm of paint equals 50mm of glasswool.
I did tests with a aluminium plate half covered with the coating on the coocking plate.
While the uncoated side is hot enough to bake an egg ,you can touch the coated side by hand !

Coating is simple ,the acryl based product can be brushed on like paint.
Typical use: walls ,roofs ,pipelines ,steampipes ,heating systems ,trucktrailer roofs ,boats ,airco systems ,etc.
The paint is watersolvable ,UV-water and frostresistant and it can withstand permanent temperatures up to 180 degree celcius.
The new branch "EMOT isolatietechniek" will market this product.

And in engines ??
Well ,the paint is not gasoline resistant ,so I had to invent a way to seal it off.
Which I found ,and the first engines with coated internals are doing tests.
The paint has a peaktemperature resistance of 250 degree ,which is not enough for exhausts.
But the factory is developing a high temperature version.

Racing crankshaft production

Our newest project involves crankshaft making.

With the superb Samarin conrods already in house ,we got the idea to start making real racing purpose crankshafts.

All EMOT crankshaft will incorporate the following design marks:
-added weight compared to standard solution.
-stiffer webs compared to standard solution.
-high precision ,built to last.
-Samarin conrod.

The main difference to usual crankshafts is that EMOT chooses to keep the surroundings of the pin as solid as possible.
This means the couterweight balance is made in by using special heavy metal inserts in the bottom of the web.
With todays HP output most small twostrokes lack flywheel.
Strange as this may sound ,it really is true. Your racebike will be faster !

First types produced will be Minarelli P6 corsa corta and Kreidler

Lectron 30 carburettor

A 30mm carburettor on a 50cc ?
That sounds like a total overkill.
Still the 30mm Lectron carb works great on a 50cc rotary inlet racing-engine.
Improves the output a high revs ,but does not cost you on low revs.

A part of the secret is the different but very easy adjusting method.
How it works:

A Lectron has no main jet ,no idle jet ,no airscrew ,no different needle tubes ,none of these parts.
Instead it has a special shaped needle with a cutout on the rear.
The cutout causes a low pressure area ,the fuel flows upwards and then gets blown off. (over the entire length)
The needle can be moved up and down in very small steps.
This gives less or more fuel from low to high revs.
Also the needles are marked with a 2 digit combination.
Change only the first digit and you will affect high rev. fuel output.
Change only the second digit and you will affect low/medium rev. fuel output.
This sounds like a lot of fiddling around ,but it is not.
It is very understanding ,simple and you don't need a lot of needles.
The adjusting is very fast ,and no fuel spilling !!

The carburetter we sell has one jet.
It has a "powerjet" mounted on top. (also changeable without spilling)
The powerjet allows to have an extra fuelboost at moments of high velocity in the carburettor.
Note: this is a "classic" powerjet ,not an electrical one ,and the jets are normal Mikuni stuff.

The Lectron is a classic carburettor too ,it dates from the 70's.
Kenny Roberts was Worldchampion with Lectron carbs.

Pistons for high end racing.

We offer a fine selection of exclusively made racing pistons.
The pistons are made at Barikit using the best CNC machines. Material of the pistons is same as Mahle M138.

Our pistons are used by a large number of racers all over the world.

We have pistons for Yamaha 125 cc twins ,both versions.
The short version is also on duty in museumpieces like the last  MZ 125 tandem.

Further we have 44 and 45mm pistons for Kreidler and Zündapp overbore specials.
For Zündapp we also have a racing variety of the stock bore 39mm piston.
For Kreidler we also have a tuning piston with stock 40mm bore size.

Latest additions are a replica of the 40mm Sachs racing piston for Brehm/Sachs and Perego/Sachs motocrossers.

And a improved version of the first special piston we ordered. The Kreidler-Van Veen rotary 50cc racer piston.
This piston has become standard fitment in the majority of 50cc rotary inlet racers.
It is a proven part that never causes problems.
But we managed some small improvements:
The latest 2010 version is 24,5mm compression height ,instead of the old 24mm.
The new thin wall piston saves weight. it is 9 grammes (15%) lighter than the older versions.
It has received a stronger piston crown with a inner shape that promotes better heat transfer.

Heidenau racing tyres

We are the official Dutch importer for Heidenau racing tyres.
From the very early beginning of EMOT-racing ,Heidenau has always been with us.

In the years past the German Heidenau factory established quite a name in the field of small motorcycle tyres.
The line of racing tyres expanded from a few moped racing tyres to the still growing diversity they produce now.

Heidenau racing tyres are developed by hobby racing drivers ,and are based on road tyres with compounds derrived from the Heidenau Karting tyres.
This is a successful approach.
Heidenau tyres are the most reliable allround racing performers.
They give confidence in wet slippery conditions ,on normal pavement ,or on racing asphalt.
We are always in close contact with the factory's development department.

Please check our webshop for the latest line of HEIDENAU racing tyres for classic racing ,scooters and modern small racebikes.

We can also deliver all other Heidenau tyres like road motorcycle ,cross ,tubes ,scooter ,moped ,wintertyres ,kart.

cilinder/engine tuning

We tune all sorts of two-stroke engines.
But our main field is tuning classic type 50cc engines for  racing ,motocross or road use.
We do porting ,reed valve conversion ,bigboring ,conversion to rotary inlet and so on...

Some of the projects in the past:
-Commercial sales of Sachs tuningcilinders for motocross use type 1,2,3 and 4.
-Simson SOBW moped racer. Winner of TT Assen 3 hour race.
-Puch maxi rotary disc valve inlet engine.
-Sachs 125ccm racing engines with 4 scavenge ports and 25 hp on the rear wheel.
-Sachs 125ccm rotary inlet engine with 30+hp on the rear wheel.

-Morini/Gilera rotary inlet sprinter engine.
-Laura-Anker/Batavus moped engined racebike for 5 hour race ,reedvalve conversion.
-Pannonia P20 engine for classic racebike ,conversion to alloy cilinders and tuning.
-Morini/TGM rotary inlet ,watercooled, dry clutch conversion for classic race.
-Simson rotary inlet ,6 speed ,dry clutch ,watercooled conversion for classic race.
-Kreidler road use optimizing Athena or Parmakit cilinders.

Our newest project we are working on:  tuningkit for german 80cc bikes (Sachs,Kreidler,Zündapp) with exhaust and converted 90ccm reedvalve inlet cilinder.

dry clutch conversion

In the 70's a real racing engine had to have a dry clutch.
Today a lot of people are looking for parts to make one on their engine.
a study of what was available before made some things clear:
-The biggest market is a clutch to fit Kreidler engines.
-But also Minarelli ,Simson ,Morini ,Maico and other make riders would want one.
-There are some Kreidler clutches on the market already ,but they are a bit weak ,superexpensive ,or spareparts are very hard to get.
-There are some Minarelli clutches on the market too ,but they use too much stock Minarelli stuff.
-Other make riders or riders with bigger engines like 80cc cannot buy anything fitting.
-Customers hate bad availability of spares.

We created our clutch bearing these points in mind.
Our clutch is big in diameter and simple in design. We use quality materials to keep the weight down.
The wear parts are interchangeable with certain MZ and Kawasaki parts ,so spares are available when in need.
The inner and outer cage are made of alloy ,the outer one of superstrong aircraft quality material.
Clutch discs are alloy too ,100mm diameter.

The clutch is available as a Kreidler kit ,that requires only mounting and a few last adjustments.
And also as a half-kit with all parts that are useful when building a dry clutch yourself on another engine brand.
Price for the Kreidler kit with straight gears and engine cover is 850 euro. (both axle types available)
Half kit is 400-500 euro ,depending on the type of parts you choose.

Our test-bike is a 90cc sprint racer with 25+hp on the rearwheel.
Driver is my teammate in the design of this clutch project : Wiebe Plantinga.

Rotary disc valve inlet making

We offer a large range of parts for making rotary disc valve inlet systems in most 50cc engines and bigger engines.
The most popular choices are in our webshop.
Should you want to know more about making a rotary inlet yourself on a certain engine ,don't hesitate and ask what you want to know.

We also offer "build in service".
You send your casings over ,we make it in and send it back to you.

Yamaha parts

This is not our core business ,but I have a lot of racefriends who own Yamaha racebikes.
So when there is a problem with the availability of parts I help wherever I can.

This is why we had the pistons for both 125 twins types remanufactured at Barikit. (exclusively made)
And this is why we offer conrods for the 125 twins ,the 250/350 TD3/TR3/TZ and even for the TD2 we have a solution.
The PVL twin cilinder ignition is very wanted as a cheap and reliable replacement for old OEM Yamaha parts.
And the Heidenau tyres 4.10-18 ,110/80-18 and 90/90-18 are a popular choice for the 250and 350 of early '70s.

Conrods and Crankshaft parts

Still the most stressed part of a tuned twostroke engine : the conrod and its bearings.

We have a lot of experience with various makes ,types and sizes of conrods.

At the moment we have found a great partner in the spanish Samarin company.  They are a small factory with very high quality standards.
And they are able to produce "specials" for us too.  Samarin uses only the best materials (bearings ,etc) for their rods ,and their machinery is all state of the art CNC type.

Besides the conrods you find in our webshop we stock a lot of other types ,and are able to tell you as customer if a certain size is available or not.  So if you need a certain size of conrod for a project or restauration ,please contact us first... We tell you if it exists.

The much wanted Kreidler racing conrod with 12mm pistonpin bearing and machined silver cage is available at EMOT.  Samarin makes them to our specifications.

Crankshaft service is also possible. You send your crankshaft to us ,we repair it and send it back.
We also sell parts like bearings, pins, washers ,etc
